In case this doesn't work:

Note: Some people have reported getting an Unable to negotiate a compatible dial-up protocol error message. We have found that putting in a host and domain name in the TCP/IP Properties in the Network section of Control Panel seems to correct the problem. If you run into this error, we recommend trying this to resolve the problem.

If you still can't get connected, the following manual login will work.

Note: Some configurations of windows95 will not support PAP (Password Authentication Protocol). If you have this situation you will have to do a manual login.
